Lake Naivasha Herping Day Tour: 1 Day

We shall depart early and head to Lake Naivasha; where our Herpetology Day Tour will take place. We shall enjoy some roadside stops around local bushes and wetlands.

At the lake, we shall scan local marshes and woodlands seeking local species. We shall then visit more habitats where we shall enjoy more herping on foot. This includes local grasslands and rocky cliffs.

Species to expect include Senegal Kassina, Cryptic Sand Frog, Nutt’s River Frog, Anchieta’s Rocket Frog, Snoring Puddle Frog, Natal Puddle Frog, Kenya Puddle Frog/Upland Puddle Frog, Nile Rocket Frog, Common Reed Frog, Garman’s Toad, Elmenteita Rock Agama, Yellow-throated Plated Lizard, Flap-necked Chameleon, Side-striped Chameleon, Montane Egg-eater, Black-necked Spitting Cobra, Egyptian Cobra, Brown House Snake, Jackson’s Centipede-eater, Battersby’s Green Snake, Mole Snake, Common Slug-eater, Northern Stripe-bellied Sand Snake, Puff Adder, Rhombic Night Adder, Kenya Horned Viper and South African Rock Python.

In the late afternoon, we shall head back to Nairobi, marking the end to our lovely herping tour.
